MOSCOW, Jan 21 (PRIME) -- Power production of Russian power utility Mosenergo fell by 9.4% on the year to 54.43 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2020 hit by the coronavirus pandemic, an unusually warm weather in January–March and higher production by hydropower plants, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The power plants of the company produced 54.43 billion kWh in January–December 2020, which is a 9.4% contraction as compared with the same figure of 2019,” the company said.
The output of thermal power by Mosenergo’s facilities shank by 1.5% to 74.25 million gigacalories in 2020 due to the warm weather and a late start of the 2020–2021 heating season as compared with the previous years.
